Accessibility Statement

How we make cicarellicontractor.com usable for everyone, the limits we know about, and how to reach us if something on the site does not work for you.

Our goal

Cicarelli Contractors wants everyone to be able to use cicarellicontractor.com, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboards, magnification or captions. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard most accessibility laws and policies point to.

What we have done

  • A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page, so keyboard users can jump past the menu.
  • Text alternatives on project photos, and decorative images hidden from screen readers.
  • Headings in order on each page, so the page structure makes sense when read aloud.
  • Labels on every field of the estimate form, with a message when a required field is missing.
  • Animations that stop when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Text and button colors chosen for contrast; our service pages score 100 for accessibility in Google Lighthouse tests.

Known limitations

  • Videos: our project videos play from YouTube, and their captions depend on YouTube's automatic captioning.
  • Linked documents: we link to permit rules and handouts published by cities and state agencies; some of those PDFs are not fully accessible, and we cannot change them.
  • Customer reviews: reviews are quoted word for word from Google, including spelling as written.
